Wolves golf to start their spring season with a home-course tournament

""

The start of the Walla Walla University men’s and women’s spring golf season will be marked by the upcoming two-day invitational tournament at Wine Valley Golf Club in Walla Walla. The tournament will begin on Monday, April 7, at 8 a.m. and continue Tuesday, April 8, at 8 a.m.

The Wolves will be hosting teams from Multnomah University, College of Idaho, and Corban College at their home course. Following standard league format, on Monday the men will play 36 holes and the women will play 18 holes; on Tuesday both men and women will play 18 holes.

Mason Palmer, WWU golf coach, says spectators are welcome to follow players throughout the tournament, but they will be asked to abide by the Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) spectator guidelines: they will be asked to keep out of the way of play and to remain 30 yards away from the golfers. Palmer also reminds fans that they will not be allowed to converse with the players, unless in the case of a lost ball, and they are to refrain from any talking during a golfer’s swing.

Watching the tournament will be free and available to the public—the only charges will be for optional cart rentals, for those who do not wish to walk the course.
